Jason & Alanna - Deroche Wedding

It’s our first anniversary today! I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since this incredible day!

We seriously had the most wonderful, happiest day, and I know virtually every bride says that, but it’s the truth. The whole day could not have gone better. It was perfect weather, everyone was healthy, there weren’t any major hiccups (there’s always a few little ones - what’s a wedding day without those ;) ) and I just honestly felt so incredibly happy all day long.

Jay got ready at his basement suite with the groomsmen, and I got ready at my grandparents home with my bridesmaids. After getting ready, Jay and I had our first look at Stave Lake Boat Launch! It was super windy but warm. Jay was waiting very patiently at the end of the dock and had to wait a while for me - there was a poor boater who lost his keys in the water and was diving in and out looking for them, calling out to me that he was very sorry for holding up our wedding! It was really funny, and thankfully he found the keys in not too long of a time and I was able to meet Jay at the end of the dock!

We met up with our bridal party at Deroche and did photos there before the ceremony! The ceremony took place in one of my favourite places at Stepping Stones, and even though our “aisle” was a sloped grassy hill no one tripped and everything worked out haha. Our ceremony was bright and intimate, but to be totally honest with you, I don’t remember much about it - it flew by so quickly! (sorry Iwan - although I do remember the football and Taylor Swift references you threw in your sermon for us, so I do remember some things!)

We went right from ceremony to family pictures to reception. I was so happy with how the tent turned out and the whole feel of the evening! It was relaxed and funny and the food was amazing.

I am also just so totally thrilled with how the pictures turned out. Candice was incredible to work with and did an amazing job with documenting the start of our marriage! Sorry if it’s an overload of images - it’s so hard to choose just a few when your photographer takes hundreds of pictures you love.

Congratulations if you made it all the way to the end of the blog ;) it was so hard to narrow down what to share! Also a huge thank you to all of our amazing vendors who worked so hard to make our day as wonderful as it was:
